Curiel, Max Mara, Armani triumph Italian designers recognized in Italy and abroad Originally Published: 2006-06-25
Big names of Italian fashion continue to garner awards and accolades both in Italy and abroad. Giorgio Armani was recognized in Taormina as top contemporary designer, and in Australia Azzolini triumphed during Sydney's Fashion Week.
In Venezuela, the Festival Italiano organized during the celebrations of June 2 at the Centro Italo-venezuelano was a great success. The fashion show held at Villa Planchart included high fashion creations by Raffaella Curiel (one of Italy's most esteemed and renowned fashionistas, invited by Ambassador Gerardo Carante to present her designs for the spring-summer 2006 collection), Alessandro Consiglio, and Max Mara. All three were cheered and applauded by the crowd in attendance.
The proceeds of the Festival Italiano of Caracas went to benefit the Italian Catholic Mission "Madonna di Pompei".
