PRIVACY POLICY / TERMS OF USE
Owned by Multimedia Nova Corporation, Corriere.com and CorriereTandem.com are firmly committed to ensure the privacy of its visitors. However, users acknowledge and agree that neither the privacy of their communications, nor visits to our web sites can be ensured. Communications may be susceptible to data corruption, interception and delays. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for both of these sites.
Information Collection: Our web server automatically recognizes an IP address and uses this information to help in administering our web sites and diagnose server problems. We do not use IP addresses to identify individuals, but we do track and record IP addresses that access our sites for reporting and profiling purposes (miscellaneous visitor browsing habits and traffic patterns) in order to improve the content of our web sites.
Like most websites, we use small bits of data called “cookies” stored on users’ computers to simulate a continuous connection. Cookies let us “remember” information about your preferences and passwords and allow you to move within our site without reintroducing yourself. Unlike many other sites, we do not permit third-party advertisers not affiliated with Multimedia Nova Corporation to send you cookies without notice.
Although both Corriere.com and Corriere.com contain links to other sites, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these other web sites. A visitor's decision to access any such other web sites shall be entirely at their own risk and discretion.
Use of Information: Some of our web site features, such as on-line surveys /contests, require our users to provide “contact information” (eg., name and email address). This information is not given to any third party. Our on-line surveys/contests may also request “demographic information” (eg., marital status, age group, etc.); however, this information will only be used to enhance our visitor’s experience at our sites, providing them with interesting and relevant content and displaying that content according to their preferences.
User demographic information may be shared with advertisers on an aggregate basis only, and in a manner which will not personally identify the individual submitting such information. We do not divulge individual statistics, contact information, etc. to third parties, including advertisers.
Frequently, we run contests where we ask visitors to provide contact information (like their email address). This information is used to contact visitors when necessary and is potentially shared with other companies directly involved in the contest promotion who may also require contact.
We may share user information with governmental authorities when legally required to do so, and may cooperate with such authorities investigating claims of illegal activity such as (but not limited to) illegal transfer of copyrighted material, or user web site postings or email messages that contain threats of violence.
Bulletin Board: At one time, both the Corriere.com and Tandemnews.com web sites provided a free Bulletin Board service for its visitors to post ideas and generate discussion. Although discontinued, anything posted to the Bulletin Board could have been copied and used by any other visitor to the Corriere.com and CorriereTandem.com sites. Because these were unmoderated discussion groups, children had the ability to publicly post or distribute personally identifiable contact information without prior parental and guardian consent.
Although we encourage and support the efforts of parents and legal guardians of children under the age of 13 to monitor their children’s internet usage, we also caution children against providing personal information to any web site without parental/guardian permission.
Posting of Visitor Feedback: On our websites that allow for visitors to post their comments, our editors reserve the right to edit, review and allow, or reject, in their entirety. Visitors' comments posted do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Multimedia Nova nor its subsidiaries or affiliates, but only of the writer. Spelling and grammar errors will not be corrected. For our sites that offer this feature, we will not allow comments that make false or unsubstantiated allegations; comments that claim to quote people or reports where the quote or fact is not publicly known; or comments that include vulgar language or libelous statements.
Our sites provide users with the opportunity to opt out of receiving communications from Corriere/Tandem and our partners at the point where we request information about the visitor.
