Today's column is about a collection of True Amazing Facts About The World We Live In Today:
Fact: Walt Disney was afraid of mice ...yet he wasn't afraid of having his head cut off and cryogenically frozen!
Fact: An ant can lift a breadcrumb that is twice its weight ...yet it doesn't occur to them to beat up the Queen Ant so that they aren't killed after mating!!!
Fact: Smiling is easier than frowning! It takes 42 facial muscles to frown, while smiling only uses 17 muscles ...yet injections of Botox make it impossible to either smile or frown thus making these statistics irrelevant!
Fact: Most of the dust particles inside your house are made of dead flaked skin ...yet most of the dust particles you find OUTSIDE the house are also made of dead skin!
Fact: There is no single word in the English language to describe dead skin ...yet hundreds to describe devices that vacuum dead skin up.
Fact: The Earth rotates counter-clockwise ...yet we still insist on wearing watches that have hands that rotate clockwise!
Fact: Donkeys kill more people per year than plane crashes ...yet donkeys do not come equipped with seatbelts!
Fact: Seven out of 10 Canadians who play hockey lose a tooth, but five out of 10 Canadians who don't play hockey lose a tooth anyway ...yet there is no free dental care!
Fact: Marilyn Monroe had six toes ...yet she was not a six-toed sloth!!.
Fact: It is possible to lead a cow up a set of stairs, but not down a set of stairs ...which explains why they are always the last to leave a loft party!!!
Fact: An elephant's brain is smaller than that of a rat's ...yet in a wrestling match the elephant would win !!!!!
Fact: A Polar Bear can eat as many as 86 penguins in a single sitting ...yet Coca-Cola's annual Xmas spokesman has never been known to say "Penguins go better with Coke."
Fact: Human saliva has a boiling point that is three times that of an ordinary cup of tea ...yet it is not used at NASA to help astronauts withstand the extreme temperatures of space!
