Flipping over Flops

By Benedetta Lamanna

Get ready to show off those feet. This summer, flip-flops are the sandal to sport. Whether it's for a weekend at the beach or even casual day at the office, these comfy sandals are a must-have accessory. The latest styles are so adorable that they've even made a shy foot person like me determined to pick up a pair this weekend.
Old Navy definitely has a huge collection to choose from. Their classic flip-flops come in a rainbow of colours: aqua blue, lavender, sweet pea, yellow and bungalow pink. These are perfect for lounging around the pool, and add a punch of colour to any outfit. Pair them with a denim skirt and halter top for a sexy, casual look. Old Navy's collection also features pink floral faux-wood flip-flops, which are great with slinky summer dresses. Even if you're not American, their stars-and-stripes sandals are so cute and festive that anyone would be proud to wear them. With prices as cheap as $6, you can afford to buy a few pairs so that you can mix and match as the situation requires.
Holt Renfrew is also in on the flip-flop frenzy. Their sandals are marked by a more sophisticated style, making them ideal for elegant occasions. Holt Renfrew's burnt-orange sandals are absolutely exquisite. The refreshing colour, paired with a beautifully beaded thong, makes the flip-flops truly pop. A second fantastic pair from their summer collection is their flat terracotta thongs. Here, deep, ruby red is coupled with extraordinary ornamentation, making these shoes a real knockout.
Aldo presents another great collection of the hot sandals. These shoes are featured mainly in browns, camels, and whites. These natural tones give the flip-flops an urban twist. Their beige floral print flip-flop, with beaded thong detailing, is pretty and delicate. A simple beige flip flop with a matching white detailed thong, also adds a touch of femininity to any outfit.
The best thing about flip-flops is that they can be paired with virtually anything. The fact that they are so flat and comfy means that you don't have to suffer through an endless smattering of blisters and sore feet throughout the summer months. And best of all, they're the perfect excuse for finally splurging on that pedicure.
